Giving Tuesday is just around the corner! Called “the world’s largest generosity movement”, Giving Tuesday is a day for people across the globe to come together in the spirit of community and giving back and to show love to their favourite charitable organizations. We hope you will consider showing love to Winnipeg’s Contemporary Dancers this Giving Tuesday.

Today, WCD’s Board of Directors launches the Rachel Browne Legacy Campaign!

This year, WCD celebrates 60 years of ground-breaking, through-provoking, and inspiring dance. This weekend, we kick off our anniversary season by paying homage to WCD’s founder Rachel Browne, a pioneer of contemporary dance in Canada whose influence is felt across the country to this day.

But we are also looking to the future, and the inspiring work yet to come.

We invite you to join us in ensuring that the legacy of Rachel Browne continues to thrive by providing opportunities for future generations to create and experience new art that inspires, challenges, and brings us together.

This Giving Tuesday, we are asking for you to make a gift to the Rachel Browne Legacy Campaign. Our goal is to reach $60,000 by the end of the 2025-2026 season.

Arts organizations across Canada are facing significant challenges. WCD is not an exception. With everyday cost escalations, WCD will not be able to deliver its core activities without more support.

The funds we raise will go towards the creation and production of new works, by current WCD artistic director Jolene Bailie and other artists who have diverse and thoughtful stories to tell. We want to ensure dance artists and audiences can continue to find inspiring and ground-breaking work at WCD and at the Rachel Browne Theatre.
